Need a function to sorting bookmarks alphabetically.
Need a function to sorting bookmarks alphabetically.
Its a very good app. However, some improvements could be to be able to… ...permanently hide local files view (I dont need that view because I dragndrop them) …open files with Command-O Additionally, the vertical scrollbars are not (Mountain-)Lion-like because theyre always visible (you can see that in the images at the top!). Other than those much appreciated small fixes, the app is fine.
App is fine, but please don’t require the discrete GPU on Notebooks.
This app is blazingly fast. Definitely my first choice for FTP/SFTP on Mac.
Probably the best SFTP client youll get for the money, but column view does have some really annoying bugs the team apparently refuses to fix. If you can afford a better client, go for it, but this will get you by. Pretty icon, too.
Ive used Flow since v1.2.6 debuted a couple years ago. I do like the speed of connections and transfers. I do like some of the interface components. I do like the droplets. But I stopped using it when I went to Lion because there were some UI things I found didnt work so well. And Im very comfortable with a traditional "FTP Application" UI, which Flow is trying to break away from. So, Im torn. But Im willing to try out this latest update (v1.7 as of this writing), and see where it takes me. I just tested it on one of the connections I still had bookmarked, and WOW its fast! So, Im optimistic.
Ive liked Flow the first time I used it 2 or 3 years ago. The simple and clean interface charmed me: no bells, no whistles, it just does what it does and it does it well. However, back then it was full of bugs and small details that didnt work so well that I left it aside. Now I give it another shot, I still love using it, but I still find some bugs from time to time that harm the experience. Some of them occur when managing bookmarks, other times you cant interact with the server after it sent an error… many small details like that make you wonder why you paid for such a great dysfunctioning app when there are so many other great free competitors that dont bug as often.
First off theres no support...you can see some FAQs but you cant ask a question, like how do you search all subdirectories, search only does current directory and Find is disabled! Why cant you go up a directory by hitting backspace, or why isnt there an arrow to go back up. How can I get my bookmarks to display on the left side? And lastly, why cant I ask questions right on your site, or at least through a Contact/email button on your site?
The only reason I bought this is because I was certain that a SFTP client that costs money in 2012 would have resume/continue support. I was wrong. I was actually shocked. This client doesnt give me anything more than the ftp and sftp command line programs, and those come free with every Mac. Please add resume support, its quite trivial to do and a necessity for a decent ftp/sftp client. Besides that it is quite nice but to me thats a huge missing feature.
Dont use for large file transfers, its pretty useless since if anything happens you cant resume. Going to look for something more reliable.
Only two protocols to use (FTP and SFTP). I cant connect to more than half my web servers. WASTE OF MONEY.
Too many bugs... I would list off all of the troubles I have had, but the developer should be able to see them within minutes of use. If you are curious, buy the app and use it. Total waste of time.
There is a lot of potential for this FTP program. I love how organized and simple everything is layed out. but Quick Look doesnt work, files often take hours to open or they dont open at all. And transfering things just shows that its transfering it doesnt actually transfer anything. Its a nice looking app but with zero functionality. Fix this app or pull it from the app store
Doesn’t work for Windows SSH servers (WinSSHD in particular). Please fix this, otherwise I would like a refund. I would be willing to help test a beta version with my servers, the log I get on the server end looks like: <event seq="1949" time="2013-12-03 17:59:42.909890 -0600" app="BvSshServer 6.02" name="I_CONNECT_ACCEPTED" desc="Connection accepted."> <session id="1551" remoteAddress="140.193.229.46:61498"/> <parameters addressRule="AnyIP" listenAddress="192.168.1.10:22"/> </event> <event seq="1950" time="2013-12-03 17:59:42.972160 -0600" app="BvSshServer 6.02" name="I_CONNECT_VERSION_RECEIVED" desc="Client version string received."> <session id="1551" remoteAddress="140.193.229.46:61498"/> <parameters clientVersion="SSH-2.0-FD_ConnectionEngine_1.0"/> </event> <event seq="1951" time="2013-12-03 17:59:43.376951 -0600" app="BvSshServer 6.02" name="I_SESSION_KEY_EXCHANGE_ALGORITHMS" desc="Key exchange algorithms."> <session id="1551" remoteAddress="140.193.229.46:61498"/> <parameters kexAlg="diffie-hellman-group1-sha1" cipherAlgIn="aes128-cbc" cipherAlgOut="aes128-cbc" macAlgIn="hmac-md5" macAlgOut="hmac-md5" comprAlgIn="none" comprAlgOut="none"/> </event> <event seq="1952" time="2013-12-03 17:59:59.667139 -0600" app="BvSshServer 6.02" name="I_SESSION_DISCONNECTED_NORMALLY" desc="Session disconnected normally."> <session id="1551" remoteAddress="140.193.229.46:61498"/> <parameters disconnectReason="SshError"/> <error type="Flow" component="BssManager/transport" class="RemoteSshDisconn" code="11" description=""/> </event> </log>
I have been using Fetch for years now (at $30) but this app does way more, and it’s designed like a true Mac Application. It’s quick, easy to use, and the tabbed browsing makes things a snap. Highly recommend this.
Crashes. Doesnt show .htaccess files. Stupid file/folder sorting. Вылетает. Не показывает хтаксесс. Тупая сортировка. Не покупайте
doesnt work. give me money back
This program has all I need from ftp client: light, fast, drugndrop, simple and "mac way" design. But one thing is missing: droplets should save passwords too, because I am using dropbox, and it will be very usefull for bookmarks syncing. Please, add this feature for me.
No longer maintained or updated. This was a very well written piece of software. In 2012. Since then , the creator has explained on his blog that he has gone to work for Facebook, and will no longer be maintaining Flow. With each OSX update, it has become more and more unusuable. Why it is still in the store, I dont know.
I’ve used Flow for a few years and have only recently needed to access files that are shared through an iCloud account. Flow can’t do it. There’s no way to get your iCloud drive to show up as a viable directory on Flow. It’s really frustrating. Apart from that, life is good.
