Flow App Reviews

Piece of crap now.

Transmit has been failing, and now this. Crap,

Do Not Buy!!!

I bought this not reading the reviews. When I try to use this it crashes every time. I cannot even use this app that I just paid for!

Love the built in edit, change permissions, and many other features

I have been using this application for a while and stopped using several other ones due to this one having most of the features I need for basic website maintenance, in particular the built in editor for editing code on the fly and being able to check and adjust permissions. I’ve read some of the negative reviews and not sure where they are coming from as I have had the opposite experience of many of them; though they also have a good point that the application basically has been abandoned with no updates in 2 years, I hope that changes as I enjoy the application.

Gorgeous but slow as molasses

this FTP client is horribly slow and highly unresponsive. i’m getting my money back

Awful - stay away

Seems to spontaneously remove and delete folders even though it tells you permissions are denied. things disappear. it’s truly awful. stay away.

Totally Worthless

Just when I thought I couldn’t find a worse FTP client than FileZilla, I found Flow. This thing is the most god-awful piece of crap I’ve ever had this displeasure of using. It’s slow, it’s buggy, the interface is weird, and there’s honestly no redeeming quality that I can find. Save your five dollars.

Theres ONE server I connect to often... and Flow cant connect to it.

It can connect in any other client I use, but not this one. And it provides me with no details whatsoever to help me fix the issue.

Perfect

This is a great client - I use it since years and it never let me down.

Can’t upload, no support

The app crashes every time I try to upload, just generates and error report and vanishes. Of course there’s no real support (a couple no-duh FAQs, not even an email address) at the developer site. Boo.

No FTPS Support

Been a user of flow for quite a few years and love the the workflow aspects of remote editing of files, etc. Used it quite a bit for SFTP to *nix servers, and it’s worked great. But I’ve recently found that it does not support FTPS. Their website states that ‘We haven’t seen much real-world demand for FTPS/FTPES, so we recommend SFTP for securie connections to your server.’ That stance is all well and good if you control or own the server you’re connecting to securely. But for various clients at the company I now consult for, FTPS support is crucial for transmitting secure content. They’re enforcing TLS on FTP connections and there is no SFTP or opportunistic plain FTP support. It works well for what it’s designed for (uploading files over FTP or SFTP), but is not a well-rounded client for all file transfer needs because of the lack of support for FTPS (FTP over TLS). Flow developers: if you’re looking for some ‘real-world demand for FTPS’, this is it. Thank you!

App is pretty much Unusable

Constantly crashes and disconnects from servers. This is the first sftp program I have ever purchased and I’m extremely disapointed. There is just better options cough* cyberduck + a million other free options. From writing this review to resending files after the app crashes, the only thing it seems to succeed at is wasting my time and money. Literally the time wasted has outweighed the initial cost. I feel ripped off. This app reminds me of an ex girlfriend I had once; beautiful on the outside but extremely ugly inside. I’d recommend to not purchase this app at all unless you have copious amounts of money and time to waste.

As it hasn’t been updated in over 3 years

It finally stopped working when updating to El Capitan, so fair warning this app should not be on the app store.
